Personally I’m an advocate for NOT having my kids do a lot of structured learning over the summer. I think they need a break, and I look instead for learning opportunities in fun things we would be doing anyway. For example, I’ve written a bunch of blog posts about ways your kids can learn while traveling. And I like to use the summers to teach them skills they won’t learn in school.
That said, sometimes kids really need to practice certain academic skills over the summer, especially if you want to prevent learning loss. Here are some of the worksheets The Trip Clip offers to help your kids keep their reading, writing, spelling, and math skills over the summer.

Writing

The Story Retell helps kids walk through the steps to summarize a story they read. It’s great for reading comprehension and writing practice.
The Story Prompts and writing template is a way to give kids ideas to get them writing.
I also sell a Travel Journal Packet which is great on summer vacation, and a packet with letter tracing practice for all 26 letters, upper and lower case, plus 10 numbers.

Spelling
