Sneak in a little handwriting practice with these two holiday-themed writing activities.

Letter To Santa
Have your kids dictate their Christmas wish list to you. Enter it into the letter tracing activity on The Trip Clip website and it will turn into dotted letters your child can trace. Kids who aren’t reading or writing yet can still ‘write’ their own letter to Santa with this activity!
The website lets you choose the size of the letters (1/2 inch, 3/4 inch, or 1 inch letters) depending on your child’s motor development.
Thank You Notes
Once the holidays are over, you can create thank you notes that your kids can trace. It’s a wonderful custom touch that your friends and relatives will love. Have your kids tell you what they’d like to say. Enter that into the letter tracing activity on The Trip Clip website and it will turn into a foldable thank you note made out of dotted letters that your kids can trace. You can choose from a variety of images for the top of the card, and there’s also a spot where they can draw a picture to go along with their message.

In addition to practicing their motor skills, tracing words that are meaningful to them will help them with letter recognition and letter sounds, which are important early reading skills.
