I created these lists to help my kids know exactly what I mean when I ask them to clean a room. They still don’t really want to do the chores, but the grumbling lessens when they can at least see there is a beginning and an end to the jobs expected of them.
I’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback on these lists, both from people using them with their kids, and just for themselves! One of my favorite comments, though, is this one from Fiona on Pinterest (she’s not the first to question this item on the bedroom cleaning checklist):

I think you missed the concept that rooms need to be cleaned top to bottom. The floor is the LAST to be cleaned so splashes, dust, debris from above gets picked-up at the floor cleaning.
That’s a good point – Luckily you can edit these lists so that they’re in whatever order you prefer!
